Alabama adopted UETA in 2001 with Arkansas Uniform Electronic
Transactions Act (2001 Arkansas SB159/HB1021) and entered it as Act No.
905 (available here)
THE ELECTRONIC RECORDS AND SIGNATURES ACT [Act 718 of 1999] - (online here)
(a) Any rule of law which requires a record of that type to be in writing shall be deemed satisfied;
(b) Any rule of law which requires a signature shall be deemed satisfied; and
(c) Any rule of law which requires a witness or notary shall be deemed
satisfied by the electronic signature of such witness or notary.
THE INFORMATION NETWORK OF ARKANSAS ACT [SB378 of 1999 ] - (online here)
(a) The Information Network of Arkansas shall have the
following duties: (1)... system to provide electronic access to members
of the public to public information and to develop, implement, and
promote the use of electronic commerce and digital signature
applications within the state in cooperation with the Department of
Computer Services Information Systems;

Section 1(d) - "the commissioner in his discretion may
accept electronic, or electronic facsimile-transmitted, or
computer-readable signatures subject to such conditions and terms as he
may determine."
