Okay I bought my first iPod spring '07, so I am not a huge adopter of Apple's toys (6 months later the 8gb video iPod came out!!!). But I am really loving some of the features of Apple's new iPhone. The email looks great with inline images viewable, the browser is Safari and auto sync to your desktop browser sounds great! Read more

Cingular 3G Globetrotter GT MAX wireless card

I have been using this Cingular 3G Globetrotter GT MAX wireless card for one year now. I am pulling 1.6mb/280kb from my house!!!!! Antenna retracts into device for easy laptop storage. I have been using this card for some time and I still find it near perfect. The retractable antenna does have a draw back... it snaps out rather then break but if you loose it, as happened to me, it will cost you $75 to replace. I travel a lot and I would say that I can get a good reception about 95% of the time. Read more

Turning off register_globals for Drupal on 1and1 Host

I have several sites running on Drupal and occasionally I come across this issue - usually after I upgrade and I forgot to copy all of the custom commands into the new directory. How do you disable register_globals when running on 1and1 hosting?

Backing Up and Restoring 1and1 SQL Database for Drupal

I am sure there are tons of you out there that know exactly how this works but I had to figure it out and unfortunately there wasn't one single article on how this would work with Drupal, SQL and 1and1.

As a subplot the reason I had to do this, other then needing to have database backups, was because I wanted to upgrade to the lastest version of Drupal and it requires MySQl 5.0 and higher. So that means exporting/backingup the original MySQl 4 database and then importing it into the newly created 5.0 database. Read more

AT&T Launching Whole Home DVR

I have been using AT&T for TV and Internet for about a year and the service has been great. I consistantly get 5.7MB down and it is always on. Cable and even DSL often have issues with storms, rain and will bump my VPN off, but not UVerse from AT&T. I have been very happy. But they promised whole house DVR months and months ago. Setting Up Drupal in 10 minutes - 5.7

This is a step by step setup guide for installing and setting up Drupal 5.7 in under 10 minutes. Now there is always something that comes up along the way that may take longer, but about 10 mintues is all it takes.

I put this together because the Drupal documentation assumes that you already know almost everything before you read it.
